EXTREME HEAT is making their return to The Backstage at El Mercado on Saturday, November 15! Since 1977, their eclectic, funky, jazz, and rock influenced sound has been a constant presence in the clubs and music festivals all over Texas. On the next Monday Night Supper Club, Monday 11/17, with hosts Barbara Nesbitt and Ben Jones, we will have the honor of having highly respected slide guitarist, songwriter, and vocalist, Jeff Plankenhorn, as the featured guest artist. Plankenhorn is no stranger to El Mercado or the rest of the Austin music scene. His musical style encompasses elements of blues, folk, Americana, and roots music, creating a sound that's uniquely his own. It's going to be an awesome time! The Nash Hernandez Orchestra established in 1949 by trumpeter, Nash Hernandez, the orchestra continues today under the direction of his son, drummer Ruben Hernandez. The band has been playing big band swing and Latin music for generations of fans throughout Texas. Come out and see this high-powered  band and "dance 'til you drop."
